nVent NUHEAT Signature thermostat owners have enjoyed the Works With Nest (WWN) integration since it was first launched in 2016. This functionality allows Signature owners to  turn their floor heating systems on or off automatically, based on Nest’s Home/Away detection.

In the Spring of 2019, Google announced they would stop accepting new WWN connections on August 31, 2019. This meant that homeowners who attempted to integrate their Nest device with NUHEAT Signature in September 2019 or later would have seen an error message. Since that time, Google has been actively encouraging Nest account owners to transition to a Google Account. Some NUHEAT Signature owners made this transition without realizing that it would disable the WWN integration for their floor heating system. Unfortunately, once the transition has been made, there is no going back; the Nest account cannot be reactivated.

Many NUHEAT Signature owners that continue to maintain a Nest account would have noticed an interruption in their WWN integration starting in December 2019.  These interruptions were caused by errors that our servers were receiving from Google’s WWN service, which ultimately prompted us to turn off the integration.  This problem has now been resolved so NUHEAT Signature owners who still maintain a Nest account and who previously enjoyed the WWN integration can do so again. We apologise for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

Google has stated that expanded Home Routines will replicate the functionality of the WWN integration sometime in 2020. Until now, there has been no definitive news on specific routines or exact dates but when this functionality becomes available, we will be sure to let NUHEAT Signature owners know.

In the meantime, NUHEAT Signature owners can visit www.nuheat.com/connected-home to learn how to set up other integrations for Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, IFTTT, and more.
