In October, nVent Chief Technology Officer Aravind Padmanabhan became a member of the Industry Data Exchange Association, Inc. (IDEA) Technology Advisory Council. The mission of the council is to drive continual digital innovation within IDEA for the electrical industry. 

IDEA is a joint initiative from the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) to drive supply chain transformation and best practice within the electrical industry. One of IDEA’s key initiatives is to develop a harmonized data model that “enables manufacturers to easily syndicate to multiple formats and empowers distributors’ eCommerce experiences with more consistent, normalized product data.” 

“I am honored to join the IDEA Technology Council to support the mission of accelerating digital innovation within our industry,” said Padmanabhan. “Partnering on this important work with experts inside and outside of our industry will help us develop better ways of doing business that meet our customers’ needs in the digital world.”
