Check out two key tips from the nVent NUHEAT Repair Team to help with your floor heating installations.

Use duct tape when running nVent NUHEAT Mat cold leads along the subfloor to your thermostat location.

• When running nVent NUHEAT Mat cold leads along the subfloor to the thermostat location, do not use roofing nails or staples to secure the cold leads to the subfloor. Nails and staples will damage the cold lead and require repair. Instead, use duct tape.

Always remind your site contractors that floor heating is installed on the job.

• Remember to inform all trades (trim installers, cabinet installers, finish carpenters, etc.) that there is floor heating installed on a job. You don’t want to have to fix damaged mats caused by floor mounted door stops installed after the tiles goes down. A single screw through a heating wire can damage a mat and require repair as well. So be informative and let your contractors know before they start any new jobs that may impact your floor.
