At nVent, we encourage our people to bring bold ideas and to be authentic as they build the future of a more sustainable and electrified world. Our culture fosters inclusion, diversity and engagement, creating a place where our people can be authentic and do their best work. This is especially meaningful today as we reflect on the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and our partnership with Rise, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities and other challenges find success in life. For the last four decades, a group of Rise employees has worked at the nVent facility in Anoka, Minn. through Rise’s community-based jobs program.
Rise and its partnership with nVent pre-date the 1990 signing of the ADA. Founded in 1971, Rise’s programs in Minnesota and Wisconsin take a whole-person approach, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through supportive access to employment, housing and life-enrichment services.
Rise employees are key members of our team in Anoka. They support our operations in a variety of ways, including assisting in paint areas, kitting items such as small screws and other parts, and providing custodial services.
The rich partnership extends beyond the nVent worksite. Several nVent employees have served as directors on the Rise board, and help other businesses understand how they could partner with Rise. We also support the organization with grants from the nVent Foundation.
We encourage you to learn more about Rise and how you can support its mission. Also, if you are in Minnesota or Wisconsin, there are numerous opportunities to support this impactful organization with your time and talents. You can learn more about volunteering and other forms of support here.
