“Creating strong, healthy relationships helps with establishing trust and makes coming to work enjoyable. Networking allows you to learn about the company more and possibly expand your views, or even your role.”

Cheryl is fairly new to nVent, but even beyond the ‘honeymoon phase’ – she is still secure with and satisfied by her decision to join our company. What drew her most to nVent was our commitment to inclusion and diversity, and how we celebrate and encourage authenticity with our people. It was the spark that helped her visualize that she had a place at nVent and would be valued for everything she would bring with her.

Another shared belief was the company’s value of absolute integrity. “I strive to treat others fairly and with the highest level of integrity” said Cheryl. “It’s a personal value for me that is very important.”

As a Senior Pricing Analyst, Cheryl collaborates with others in implementing and enhancing nVent’s pricing software. Examining data extensively and performing detailed analysis is not an easy feat, but it is something that she finds joy in doing. “I like being able to collaborate and problem solve with all of the business segments,” said Cheryl.

She has also found taking on a leadership role in one of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to be rewarding on personal and professional levels. Through serving in a leadership capacity with our Connecting Cultures ERG and being a member of several other ERGs, she has been gifted with the opportunity to work and connect with people she would have never crossed paths with.

There are many positives Cheryl sites for why she continues to appreciate being an nVent employee, but one of the biggest is that she sees that people aren’t asked to show up at work a certain way. Instead, they are encouraged to come as they are and give what they’ve got. “nVent values people and is willing to invest in them,” said Cheryl. “They want people to feel appreciated, seen and heard.” On top of that, she is pleased with the emphasis on employee health and participates in the annual wellness program that motivates employees to be accountable for living a healthy lifestyle through challenges, webinars and personal coaching.

Networking and learning from others, even those outside of your immediate job function, has been a large contributor to Cheryl’s career success. “Creating strong, healthy relationships helps with establishing trust and makes coming to work enjoyable,” said Cheryl. “Networking allows you to learn about the company more and possibly expand your views, or even your role.  It can also help with finding work opportunities, for example, being considered for special projects.”
