“Our Family Fun Days are a shining example of the family-oriented culture we work hard to maintain in Solon.”
At nVent, the well-being of our employees and their families is incredibly important to us. Our culture of inclusion recognizes and celebrates how instrumental the family dynamic is to overall employee well-being. We enjoy creating opportunities for our teammates to engage in activities outside of work where their spouse, partner, children, loved ones or even pets are welcome.
When the weather allows, our team in Solon, Ohio shows their appreciation by inviting employees and their family members to enjoy an afternoon in the park – complete with food trucks, bounce houses, music, magic shows, face-painting, gaming trucks and more.
But beyond the fun and games, these gatherings underline what makes nVent truly special: our culture. We believe our culture is a differentiator and fosters an environment where our employees can bring bold ideas, be authentic and build the future of a more sustainable and electrified world. When our employees thrive, so can their families.
Eric Osborn, vice president of the nVent CADDY and LENTON product portfolios for our Electrical & Fastening Solutions (EFS) business segment, was the executive sponsor for the most recent event. He is a firm believer in the famous quote from Peter Drucker, legendary management consultant: “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” Eric is a strategy enthusiast, but he knows full-well how essential a strong culture is for laying the foundation for a healthy company.
“Our Family Fun Days are a shining example of the family-oriented culture we work hard to create and maintain in Solon,” said Osborn. “They provide a tremendous opportunity for work families and personal families to enjoy a beautiful day together. It is one of the ways our campus does their part to showcase why nVent is a great place for employees and their families.”
Representatives from nVent’s nine Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are also present at these events to answer any questions and register new members. Our ERGs are formed by employees who share a common interest, background or experience. They are responsible for leading our employee-driven inclusion and diversity efforts. These events create a point of connection for our teammates to be engaged beyond the day-to-day work, which is encouraged at nVent.
